Caldera de Taburiente

I bid farewell to Santa Cruz and collected a car. I then drove to Los Llanos de Aridane where I would base myself as it's an excellent jumping off point to the Caldera de Taburiente and the rest of the west side of the island. The drive was spectucular, heading up into the mountains and driving though clouds. After I'd arrived and settled in I headed to the Caldera de Taburiente. It's a bowl shaped crater covered in Canary Pine and rock formations and it's stunning. It is literally in the clouds and when I got there you could barely see anything. I did a walk to a couple of lookouts and the clouds parted sparingly. I decided to call it a day and head back to my hotel and have some dinner.
